Forget tinsel and baubles – this year, we’re giving our home a chic Christmas makeover with fairy lights, foliage and faux fur.
It’s getting to that time when people ask the most important question of the year – ‘have you got your tree up yet?’
Decorating for Christmas is one of our favourite things about the festive season, and we can’t wait to crack open the eggnog and get the lights twinkling. This year though, we’re giving the whole house a festive makeover. Why stop at the tree when there’s the kitchen, bedroom and even the bathroom to consider?
Christmas cheer for every room
With a few key additions, you can add festive cheer throughout your home. Start in the living room – to complement your tree, drape this Wolf Throw over your sofa and add some faux fur cushions to create a warm, cosy look.
Candles are a quick and easy way to give any room a festive feel. Pop some tealights in these seasonal Teod Candle Holders and dot them around the room. We also love these Metal Candle Holders, which look great standing in a row.
For the bedroom, this Printed Cotton Duvet cover is subtly festive for that alpine ski lodge look. If you want something that you can use all year round, this Embroidered Cotton Duvet will still look great come January and this Wool and Cotton Cushion Cover has a timeless monochrome style.
Festive finishing touches
To complete your Christmas makeover, some specially selected finishing touches are in order. First up, foliage – pick holly and ivy from the garden (or find plastic versions in craft shops – they look just as good) and arrange on the mantelpiece or dining table.
Pinecones look great stacked up in a clear glass vase – thread through some fairy lights to create a glowing display. You could also collect cinnamon sticks, twigs and acorns to fill bowls, then place a candle in the centre.
Finally, for little ones’ bedrooms, this sparkly Pom Pom Bunting looks great strung above the bed or on the door.
Merry Christmas!
